In praise of picnics
High summer in Bordeaux and a picnic is dreamy. Here is how to make it special, whether you are planning a romantic afternoon, a casual outing, or simply a date with yourself. Or heading to the coast as ever all the love for seaside picnics, wild swims and vitamin sea.

🍓 Here’s a little something for you all first:
Freezing seasonal berries is a great way to preserve their freshness for later use. Here’s my simple step-by-step guide.

How to Freeze Berries (Strawberries, Blueberries, Raspberries & Blackberries)

Wash & Dry Rinse the berries gently in cold water. Drain and pat dry completely with paper towels (moisture leads to ice crystals and freezer burn).

Prep Hull strawberries and cut them if desired. Remove any stems from the berries.

Freeze
Spread the dry berries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Freeze for 1–2 hours or until solid. This prevents clumping when placed together. Transfer the frozen berries into airtight freezer bags or containers.
Remove as much air as possible before sealing.

Label & Store
Label with the date and type of berry.
Store in the freezer for up to 6–12 months.

Tips
Use frozen berries directly in smoothies, baking, or sauces no need to thaw.
