Autumn fruits all the joy! Coming up this week my love for apples recipes include Pain Perdu (lost bread) a glut of archive apple recipes, greenhouse love and of course my Tart tatin (essential) I get asked a lot what is my favourite season and my reply is always the same I love them all. Each season holds different memories for me and I get excited about the promise of what is to come. The excitement of what the next season holds is the always the best feeling.

Recipe: Pain Perdu (lost bread)
Settling in to life in Bordeaux has been such an adventure and the simple everyday ritual of walking to the bakery is something that I know I have written about before. Left over french bread or pain perdu (lost bread) is perfect for this recipe. This bread and butter pudding is the most unctuous and delicious of all nursery puddings. Here I top it with slices of apple to give a nod to the autumn.
