Ice cream days

I love raspberries & Summer days continue…

Hello and lovely to be here with you! I hope you are all well and life feels good. Excitement as we head into festival season, high days and holidays.

A simple life is the best life. I have been thinking about this a lot lately and wondering what makes me most happy. What I love about cooking is how creative it is and how much joy it brings to others. I cook with the ebb and the flow of the seasons going naturally with what nature has to offer at its best. I know where I am then, there is something grounding and reassuring about each changing season. I could not tell you which season is my favourite but the promise of each one brings its own excitement, evokes different memories and brings different produce into my kitchen. My kitchen is a place that I love to be when I put on my apron it gives me a sense of armour, I can be myself and get lost in the seasons.

Summer dazeeeeee

Summer days continue in my kitchen. All the colour and flavour. It is like bringing all the warmth and freshness of the season inside. The scent of ripe tomatoes, high note herbs and lemon zest filling the air, or maybe making smoothies each day in the morning sun or the clinking of ice in glasses for your favourite tipple at the end of the day. The kitchen becomes a little haven where I eat seasonal berries on repeat, prepare salads, or simply bake. What summer flavours do you love in your kitchen?

Summer fruiting

Raspberries to me are bursts of summer sunlight, soft and fleeting. They remind me of afternoons spent barefoot in the garden, fingers stained a tender pink, the hum of bees and the scent of wildflowers. Sweet and tart all at once, the best memories as a child picking the raspberry canes in our kitchen garden. One for me one for the colander and I think I do love raspberries just a little bit more than strawberries 🍓

Raspberries are such a perfect summer fruit sweet and tart here are a few ideas how I like to use them in recipes 🌿

Granola with yogurt and honey

Salad with summer leaves, goat cheese, honey and walnuts

Raspberry jam on toast (so good)

Raspberry vinaigrette for salads

Muffins for breakfast (straight from the oven)

Raspberry pavlova 🌿
