Bonjour Bordeaux
Oh my! (we have arrived)
Bordeaux the famous wine growing region, a port city on the Garonne River, forget Paris, this French city has everything for me.
My love for the beautiful city of Bordeaux has come from my love for Mark and seeing it through his eyes and that of his vineyard in the beautiful wine region of Bourg, Cotes de Bourg. Days spent amongst the vines were wonderful watching and learning the process of wine making was so exciting, yet so involved, scientific, practical, a labour of love. They say anything that looks effortless is usually hard work, life on the vineyard was romantic and idyllic but really just like farming with so many challenges and a market that is so competitive. Mark sold the vineyard in 2018 and one day he may return to wine making, for now we and so many others are able to enjoy his vintages that he so cleverly created.
So here we are at No. 26 our new house which over time we will be turning into our home with colour, pattern, vintage finds and all things sentimental to us. Over the coming weeks I will bring you my everyday from here news from my kitchen and beyond. Warm sunshine, gentle french accents, meandering through markets, a glass or two, new sounds, colours, energy, buzz and all the Bordelaise flair.

I hope you will join me on this exciting adventure that my partner Mark and I have been working towards for so long. In my books my connection to France is so strong and has been such an inspiration to the way I think and feel about food. *A la table* Bringing people together with good food and wine is everything to me.
Since arriving at the weekend I am slowly getting acquainted with our new home the new smells, sounds and where everything will find a place. I have always pictured myself cycling to the market and it was even better than I ever dreamed. With childlike wonder I went from market seller to market seller not caring my french was rusty, wide eyed and so happy to be there. Returning home basket laden Mark and I feasted on good bread and natures seasonal offerings not forgetting the honey, cheese, oysters (oh my) and of course the charcuterie. Heaven.

C'est très chic
OH LA LA, all the love for French style, they always get it so right. Here I share a couple of favourites from French brand Sezane; a classic sweat and motif tee. A beautiful Breton stripe (which one should never be without), a neckerchief of dreams and a bag and coat to match. Voila!
From top left: Sweatshirt £95 Sezane, Sailor square £6.95 Seasalt, Oh la la t-shirt £50 Sezane, Breton stripe £27 & Other Stories, Shoulder bag £22.99 Mango, Trench coat £85 John Lewis ANYDAY Range.
Above: My C’est Si Bon sweat is from Hush, and sadly no longer in stock! I did however see some for sale on Vinted and eBay if you wanted to get your hands on one. The Sezane sweat above is a great alternative. My white skirt (love) is recent from Marks & Spencer.

Sea & Shore is more than just a cookbook; it shares the connection between food, a sense of place and storytelling. With stunning photography, it translates experience and memories into ingredients that come together as simple, rustic dishes that anyone can easily recreate at home.

Time & Tide
In Time & Tide, Emily Scott weaves together all the strands that influence and inspire her cooking; from the salt-scented air to the ever-changing shades of the water and the shapes and textures of the wild fennel and tamarisk plants that crowd in on the coastal path. These elements make for incredible dishes infused with creativity and a sense of place.
Emily’s recipes reflect the ebb and flow of daily life during the year; from breakfasts of overnight oats and buttery crumpets to lunches of sea-herb focaccia, and from suppers of Cornish bouillabaisse to desserts of treacle tart and bramble and peach crumble. Each dish evokes something inherently special to Emily and the culinary delights of Cornwall.
Be welcomed into her coastal world with more than 80 recipes alongside stunning photography to help you discover this most-magical of places.
“A beautiful and soul-comforting book for anyone who loves to cook.”
- Stanley Tucci
