Change of season, my essential French larder and all the wonder of figs. So much to love.
Store cupboard magic
Hello to you my lovely subscribers! I bring you so much news of another memorable week from my kitchen as I write to you from my desk. Fig season is upon us in Bordeaux and the glut of figs are everywhere. Oh the magic of these beautiful fruits that will always dazzle in whatever recipe you choose. A time I look forward to all year. I use figs in savoury and sweet recipes. Pickles, jams, cakes, tarts, autumnal casseroles or simply soaked in marsala or armagnac and served with vanilla ice cream. Today I share with you two recipes I love using figs; my fig tart and chicken with figs and sage, both equally as delicious.
If you love all things French as much as I do this weeks kitchen notes from my *Bestseller Substack* Shore Shore is for you. How I stock my larder is important to me. My larder is always a treasure trove of essential things I love and that enhances my cooking.
