Figs glorious figs, this week is all about figs and three of my favourite recipes for you to bring figs into your life (essential by the way). How are you? I hope you have had a wonderful week and are ready for my weekly ramblings.

Figuring out figs - there are many variety of figs, the best I have tasted are those found in Provence. Figs grow everywhere, like weeds. The delicate fruit can be eaten straight from the tree slowly savoured (I always find myself closing my eyes as I take the first bite). The beautiful leaves are the perfect shade for a post lunch siesta, which was always essential to escape the midday sun, very much a way of life in Provence.

Back home one of my own garden triumphs has been my fig tree and so delighted to say finally after two years I am harvesting my very own figs, so here are three of my favourite recipes to get the most out of eating this delicious fruit. Figs made into jams, chutneys, salads a favourite coppa, feta, chilli, figs and rocket or roasted in marsala and simply served with clotted cream ice cream. Of course forgetting my Fig leaf panna cotta that I will share with you in the Autumn (fig leaves freeze beautifully so save them) All life enhancing. A fruit that will always dazzle your guests and be a talking point at the table
